TROESTER, Gerlach Announce Cooperation in North America
At this years Rubber Expo in Cleveland, TROESTER (Booth #1636) and Gerlach officially announce their cooperation in North America to the industry.
TROESTER is a leading global supplier of extrusion and calendering systems for rubber processing in the tire and general rubber industry. For nearly 125 years, TROESTER has supplied innovations and development in the rubber industry, like the pin-type extruder, and will continue to set milestones in the future. TROESTER is headquartered in Germany, has its own subsidiaries in the U.S., China and Switzerland and as well as offices in Russia and France.
Gerlach has been a partner in the rubber industry for over 40 years, supplying manufacturing technology for demanding vulcanization applications excellent heat transfer allows shorter production lines, saving valuable floor space, while using minimum amounts of gas and closed circuit heat recovery will keep the operating costs to a minimum.
Gerlach and TROESTER established a cooperation in Germany in 2014, and installed a shared research and development production line at Gerlach’s headquarters.
In North America, TROESTER Machinery Ltd. will also be the sales and support arm for Gerlach, extending the general cooperation in this market.
To allow customers in North America to evaluate the equipment and ultimately be able to run trials under production conditions, Gerlach has just finished installing a full-scale vulcanization line at TROESTERS U.S. facility in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
The plan is to have the line ready for rubber trials in the first quarter of 2016, including gas supply and a latest-generation compact extruder from TROESTER with vacuum capabilities.
The extruder will be a 90 mm (3-h“) unit with an L/D ratio of 20:1 and an individually driven feed roll. The machine will be able to be run vented or non-vented.
The Gerlach equipment consists of an in-feed conveyor, pre-shock unit, shock channel with microwave support, hot air channel to uphold temperature until curing is reached, cooling channel with air blow-off and caterpillar.
